20,000 Billion VND high-way shorten HCMC to Vung Tau

On the way to develop the suffer area around Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC), Vung Tau is welcoming a new project that is 20,000 billion VND (estimated planning) high-way to shorten Bien Hoa city (Dong Nai province). Not only help HCMC to share to heavy traffic jam in HCMC- Vung Tau expressway but also become one of the arterial roads to connect new high-end project around such as Long Thanh golf, Aqua city luxury complex (Novaland Corp projects), Shing Mart international hospital and industrial parks.

The Vietnamese Government Office has just issued Document No. 6000/VPCP-CN on the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Construction Investment Project (phase 1). The document clearly states, on the proposal of the Ministry of Transport in Report No. 8264/TTr-BGTVT dated August 11, 2021 on the approval of the project investment policy under the PPP method (BOT contract), Deputy Prime Minister Le Ban Thanh commented as follows: The Ministry of Transport, based on the road network planning for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2050, after being approved by the Prime Minister, reviews the content of the investment project to build Bien Hoa expressway - Vung Tau (phase 1) to submit to the Prime Minister.

 

As it's known that the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway phase 1 has a total length of 53.7km running parallel to the No.51 highway. The first is connecting the No.1 Highway bypass through Bien Hoa city (Dong Nai province); the end point intersects with the ring road of Ba Ria city (No.56 Highway) of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

In which, the section of the route located in Dong Nai province is 34.2 km and in the territory of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is 19.5 km. The project has a total investment of 19,012 billion dong, building 7 interchanges, 13 flow overpasses, 4 crossroads and 19 highways. The total area of ​​land used to build the project is about 588.5 ha.

 

In case the investment policy is approved by the Prime Minister, the project will start the investor selection procedures from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of 2022; construction works from the first quarter of 2023 and completed after 36 months of construction. Once completed, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway project will relieve the pressure of traffic jams for Highway No.51 - the arterial road connecting Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, currently falling into overcrowding.
